Created new steppe wildlife refuge in Zabaikalsky Province, Russia
Two new wildlife refuges were created in Zabaikalsky Province on 18th October 2011. One of them – Semenovsky (47615 ha) was made in the frames of UNDP/GEF Steppe Project. About 40 % of this landscape wildlife refuge consists from steppe territories. Other parts are forest-steppe and taiga ecosystems, wetlands of Onon, Unda, and Kalangui rivers.
