Short results of monitoring of Steppe eagle in Western Kazakhstan

КарякинаMonitoring of Steppe eagle populations was carried out in Western Kazakhstan in the frames of the UNDP/GEF Steppe Project in Russia from June 6 till July 1, 2015. Total 337 nesting areas were visited, 418 nests were observed. The chicks or clutches were found only in 138 nests. The main reason of unsuccessful nesting was fall of temperature in brooding period.
